We began to worship together in September of 2007.
Lee recognized that while serving as a police chaplain he was somewhat limited in how he could witness. He knew that the answer to a lot of issues that people were dealing with was to get involved in a local church. The problem was that a lot of public safety folks, especially police officers were not all that excited about going to church. He began to pray about how he could involve them in church. He asked, "Why not start a church whose focus group is cops and fire fighters"?
Lee and Ellen began to talk about and pray, asking God to show them how to start a church that would be attractive to those public safety personnel they had learned to love. Finally it was time to do it.
Faith has been a big part of their life for several years, so stepping out again just seemed right.
Our First Location
An old Bed & Breakfast was the first place we gathered to test the waters and see if we could actually start a church. We stayed there for four months until we reached the point of needing more room.
You can now find us at The Hillsdale Shopping Center, 17th & Fairlawn, (actual address is 5350 SW 17th) next door to the CHina Pavilion.
